“They all think I’ve lost my mind,” Eveline said as Wolfe turned the truck down the lane to his tract of land.

“I know what I saw,” she repeated to herself.

Something closed over her hand. Something hot, hard and strong. Glancing down, she saw that it was his hand.

She blinked several times before she could raise her eyes to his. He was wearing his hat low over his brow. His eyes drilled into the dirt lane in front of him. But he was holding her hand in a firm grip that told her everything she needed to know about what he believed.

Underneath, she felt charged. That reckless bent she’d been battling made her want to hold and keep him.

Keep him.

You can’t keep something wild, her father had told her often. She knew from her father’s experience that wild things broke your heart. That was why they were best left alone.

But she could no more take her hand out from under Wolfe’s than she could walk away at this point.

She was too far gone and she needed to know…how far was he?

This story has so much: childhood love finally realized, family feuds, and an almost supernatural threat thrown in to up the suspense. I'm hoping for many more visits to this small town. It's got plenty of juicy stories to tell just within these two families alone."

And it has me not only a fan of this new series and eagerly awaiting the next book, but a new fan of Amber Leigh Williams as well! The Eaton and Coldero families have so much drama and it's so juicy! This first book was a great world-building one and has opened the door to so many possibilities for what will happen as time goes on. The romance between Eveline and Wolfe was truly beautiful and I loved the way things evolved with their relationship. The suspense was on point and kept me interested. Everything came together expertly, leading to me strongly recommending this book for the perfect weekend or rainy day read!"
